On this day many came to experience a short miracle of mood shift.

As I lingered and watched I noticed rendezvous meetings in the park. By this time most visitors were "social distancing" -- a term of behavior that had become a dreaded necessity. The climate produced by these precautions is not carefree by definition, but now I could sense visitors smiling under their masks, or thought I could. ... I know I was smiling.
